When I look back in twenty years, I want to be able to say, I was loved. I loved, and I was loved in return. Perhaps its just a dream that will never come true, but maybe it will happen.
See, when you're young, life is this big, open space filled with a million possibilities. When you're young, anything is possible. Your dreams can become limitless. As you grow older, boundaries come down and you forget.
What do you forget?
To love.
You feel your dreams begin to slip away, slowly at first, then suddenly it's like they're just gone. Like they were never there before. And you have this big, empty place inside of you where everything you had to hold onto, is gone.
So what do you do?
I guess you do the only thing you can do, don't stop believing. Hold onto that little dream like it's everything to you. Believe in it without fault or folly. And one day, you'll find it.
Love... it's a wonderful, amazing thing. I've never truly experienced it with a boy, but I've felt love. I know I have. And I've seen it.
Walking down the street, I had to stop and stare one day. This old man opened the car door for his wife, and gave her a kiss on the cheek, and the look they exchanged... that's the one thing that told me, it's real! That's the one thing I have left to hang onto, the one thing I still believe in.
Somebody important to me, once said, 'Hold tight to your dreams, they give you something to hold onto.' And that, that made an impact on my life.
I know this really must not make complete sense, but I hope this makes an impact on your life too.
Just remember, it's real, and somebody out there... loves you.
