Living life as a gay teenager. It's never easy

I always had a certain plan for coming out. I would be 21, at university, and I would just tell my parents one sunny morning. But no, Things usually don't work out the way we hope. I came out by accident. My dad accidentally clicked on a conversation i was having with a boy I liked. I knew what he was going to say, so I instantly started to cry, as much as I tried not to. He said "I will love you, no matter who you are." Same went for my mother. and my 2 sisters. They accepted me, love me still just as if i were straight. That was on October 16, 2011.

The next day, it spread through school. and surprisingly, NO ONE, gave me abuse. because I guess we are all mature enough now to know we can't change ourselves. We can't change who we love. And everyone understood that. They knew how hard it was for me to do this. So everyone rather than beating me to a pulp, accepted me with open arms. But on Facebook, The abuse kicked into high gear. I never replied to those ignorant people. That's what they wanted. For me to get angry, but it didn't phase me, because They're probably hiding their own form of confused Homosexuality. So they take their vented up frustrations out on people like me. So I ignored them. I'am open at school, and at home, and whenever im Somewhere public.

I know, deep down, i had it easy! I'm saying it isn't easy. Not for the many tens of thousands like me, who may live in strict communities, or families. Ones who have to constantly hide their true selves. We all know it's never easy living life as someone different from a majority, but its how we live and act on our identities that will either make us proud to be called gay, lesbian, transgender, or bisexual. Or to become someone who hides behind the veil of lies and denial, preaching hate that is really directed at themselves.

So, hopefully this article is read by LGBT teens. it may not change your views on who you are, but at east I've tried.
