Emma Montgomery’s “Double Standards” speaks the truth about women and the way they’re portrayed. After women won the right to vote with the 18th Amendment, their standards have not improved in today’s society.

I agree with Montgomery’s stance; she is right in that women are rarely seen as both feminine and strong, especially in movies and cartoons. I also see Montgomery’s supporting detail of the change in nature when a boy is around. I have experienced that when girls are around boys, they become more timid and suddenly have less of an appetite.

The conclusion was well-written, as well. I believe we should change, not only for ourselves, but our sisters and daughters. We should show girl-power for the future generations.
