\"We live, and we die. So why waste our own time on stupid little things when we could save the world.\"- Peyton -Taylor

Author's note: I hope to have this book fully finished soon.

Whispers filled the air as people saw Athena walk in the room. People sat quietly and bowed to her. It was shocking to see one of the greatest gods walk before us today. She was the goddess of wisdom and was the strength of war. Many from the time before ours had never have seen neither a God nor a Goddess. Over a thousand years ago the last god to come to earth, well I wouldn’t really call him a god. He was more of the king of death, but many sought to believe he was a god. Although many are still led to believe he lives among us and walks the earth cursing those who do not worship him.
There was only one reason for Athena to be here and that was of course to lead us through this war. The war we all knew was coming with Spaniels, but it was a first. They wanted our land, and they wanted us to be ruled bye; well the Spain’s. None of the people approved of it and none of the people really wanted war. They wanted Peace through the years. But no, we had something they wanted. Pure gold, more space and the goddess land of life. We had it all. The Romans where very protective of their valuables. The Romans knew that if the Spaniels where to take the land from us then everything would be ruined.

“We shall fight. Not for victory but for piece. The people of the Gods and goddess will understand the reason of this as well as I do.” Athena spoke. Her wisdom reached the people and they nodded in understand meant and agreement.
“I will not be the one to lead you through this war. I shall give you my wisdom and strategies to finish this war alive.” The people looked to her and then to each other and wondered. The people whispered and where confused with what was going on. Sure they heard she was skilled in the art of war, and helped heroes such as Odysseus and Hercules. But not many of the people heard of the one who was the god of war.

“Ares will be the one to lead you. He is strong and knows what to do. Like I told you all. I shall give you my wisdom for this war.” Athena took a seat in her thrown. The fabric was smooth and soft. The people of the town had made it.
They figured one day that one of the gods or Goddess would come down to help us in our time of need and the people where right.
Ares appeared from the heavens and looked to us. He held his Shield in one had and his arrow in the other. People looked to him with wide eyes and bowed as they did for Athena. People where very respectful of all gods and goddess even if they didn’t car for them they showed their respect.
“People of Romania, I shall lead you through this war with my skill’s” He spoke with a strong and fearless voice. His voice was strong but he was also a cowered. Not many of the little kids knew that. A lot of them looked to him as a war row model. With his strength and his fearless ness. They all wanted to be him. After Ares, Athena and those who said they would fight talked, Ares and Athena left back to the heavens to discus what was going to happen to the other Gods.

Marcus stood up and looked to us all. “We shall rest and prepare for war!” He shouted to those who where to fight for us.
“We shall not put harm to those who mean no harm to us!” he yelled. Many people chanted and others disagreed. We Romans didn’t like the fact that we had to fight with people. Many of us thought it was to bloody and not many of the gods or goddess would approve. But they did.

Many wanted nothing but peace. I was one of those people. Even though it was the year 2011, not many things changed in Rome. After they left many of the worriers left to get food and rest. The women took the kids out to play while their husbands left to feast and rest.
“So what do you think of this ‘War”?” Marcus laughed a bit and looked to me. He always asked my opinion on things.
I shook my head. “It’s a stupid war that will get us no were out of it!” War frustrated me and I hated it.
Many people loved the sound of war. It brought adrenaline to many people and made them excited about it. There really was no point in it I thought.
“It sounds exciting to me” Marcus smiled and laughed. He was the ‘none’ fear type of guy. But behind all that fear he was scared. It was very obvious to many, even me. Marcus hid behind a mask that was full of fear and when that mask came off, you would see him, the real him.

“Oh come on Evangelina” Marcus looked to me as if I had said something wrong or in his words, not appropriate. Although I was going to speak my mind to him and say what I wanted, no matter how much trouble it would get me in.
“You can’t just hate the war. It solves problems. You know this.” He looked to me and threw his hands up and looked to me once again.
I rolled my eyes and shook my head. Marcus hands dropped and he looked at me. “What do you disagree with the war?”
I nodded “Of course I do. And I always will.” Marcus gave a look and folded his arms and stopped walking.

Looking to him I stop and turned to him. “If you think you’re so right on this war thing why don’t you just speak your mind.” I could tell he wasn’t too happy with my words about not liking war. But I could really careless. I was going to stick to my own opinion whether he liked it or not. Of course he would get pissed about it, he always did that’s what brothers do when you say something they don’t want to hear.
I shrugged. “First, war gets us no wear I mean look back to when we bombed people in china and such, they didn’t give up. War does nothing.” I spoke.
Once again he gave me a look and said, “You’re so wrong. It got us what we wanted.” He said and UN- folded his arms. He gave me one last look as if he was saying “I hate you.” And walked away.

Here comes the silent treatment for the next 2-3 months. Oh well. He wanted to hear what I had to say I said it.
“This is stupid! There is no point in this stupid war!”
William walked up to me before my brother stormed away. He looked to me and when he stormed away and asked, “What’s his deal?” Rolling my eyes I looked to him. Marcus was always getting upset over something I said or something I did or something I didn’t do. But that was his life, to hold grudges.
“He is upset because I told him what I thought of war.” I rolled my eyes again and William just sighed and started up again.
“I mean really do they really think they will get peace? I mean really dude!” William threw his hands up and then let them flop to his sides.
I rolled my eyes and sighed. “William I’m not a dude you know I hate that.” I glanced to him. People where going crazy for the war, people where starting to have big conversations about if its right or wrong and those who thought it was wrong argued it was wrong. Those who thought it was right argued it was right.

The nice peaceful town we lived in was now, full of shouting most times over who was right. Every one was doing it even my own Mother and Father. And the sad thing is they where arguing with each other about who was right or wrong. My mother thought it was right and that it was for our own protection. My father thought it was wrong, and worthless and a waist of time. I obviously had the same opinion as my father and of course my brother had my mother’s opinion.
Marcus always tried to get me worked up in the fight but like always I roll my eyes and walk away.
“Oh yeah, sorry. Anyway, are you going to write a note to the gods?” William looked to me with an encouraging look on his face.
Shaking my head I answered. “Why write a note when I’ll just find away to speak to them myself.” I spoke harshly. The gods where just going to mess things up. As much as I respected them and everything they did but this was just pathetic.
“Evangelina!” William exclaimed. “You know you can’t do that.” His eyes where wide and full of worry. It was against the Gods and Goddess rules to go near them with out far warning. And knowing me I would be the first to break them.
I shrugged. “I don’t care. Sure the people in Spain started this by wanting our area with all the gods and goddess but it’s not worth a war, yeah sure we are protecting what is ours but it doesn’t mean fight.” I spoke my words that not anyone wanted to hear.

William looked around and then looked to me. “You said that too loud.” I looked around and rolled my eyes as every one stared that where the closet to us. Every one farther out heard nothing.
Although my mother and father heard me. They walked over to me and didn’t look to happy. They both worshiped the Gods and goddess, but had different believes about war.
“Evangelina Rose Lynn!” my mother said and stopped right in front of me. “You will not disturb the Gods in their time to prepare us all and them self’s for this war!” My mother wasn’t too happy with me and I could tell my father kind of liked that idea. I shot him a look and he smiled and nodded as in his consent to do so with my so called ‘plan’
My mother looked to my father and gave him a smack on the chest “Anthony!” My mother shouted to him and hit him again as he smiled just a bit. “Don’t you dare give her permission to do as she pleases? She is our daughter and she shall do as I say.” My mother always would say that. ‘She is our daughter and she will do as I say.’ It was never ‘She is our daughter and she will do as we say.’
I must admit, my mother was selfish. She put herself before everyone and when someone said she was wrong and was even proved wrong she flipped.
My father rolled his eyes and spoke, “I’m not. I’m saying she shouldn’t Chloe there is a difference you know?” He laughed.

My father was tall and had dark hair with hazel green eyes. My father fought in war with his brother Mars. Of course you don’t hear this stuff in history about who was truly related to whom, but my father’s brother Mars is the god of war. My father fought for him and besides him. He hated it so much but he did it once and only once for his brother.
But Mars wasn’t a Greek god, he was a Roman god. There are many gods and goddess for different things but some how the Roman and the Greek are tied together no one knows how. For my mother, well to everyone’s surprise she was Aphrodite cousin. Well it was obvious to us all. My mother was beautiful and as is Aphrodite. My mother has long brown hair that flows down her back; her eyes are a silverfish blue. My mother’s eyes sparkled like a start in the sky. No wonder she drew my dad in so easy.

My mother looked to me and sighed and then spoke in a softer voice then she did before. “Evangelina, please don’t bother the gods. You know how un-happy they get with out a far warning from us when we just come and go as we please.” I swear my mother is bipolar sometimes.
Knowing my mother and father they didn’t know if I would do as they say and not go forth with the idea or not and ignore their every word.
Sighing I rolled my eyes. “Yeah sure I won’t go through with it.” William looked to me knowing what I meant, and my parents looked at me and smiled and said thank you and went back to their fighting over the war.
William looked to me as we walked away from my parents and their old bickering, “You can’t be serious.”

“Well I am.” I looked to him. I wouldn’t kid about that.
Whispers filled the air as people saw Athena walk in the room. People sat quietly and bowed to her. It was shocking to see one of the greatest gods walk before us today. William looked to me as we walked away from my parents and their old bickering, “You can’t be serious.” William looked at me as we stopped in front of my house. I nodded. Why wouldn’t I be serious? I was known around here for trouble and doing things I wasn’t supposed to. Hints the fact about the gods.
“You should know by know William, I will do as I please if it’s for the good of the people.” I sighed and looked to him. Rolling his eyes he looked to me and said, “True I should know you by now and I do you’re a trouble maker, no good-“I stopped him.
“Yeah, yeah I know the rest. No need to brag on.” I said. William and I said our goodbyes and he left and headed home. The houses in town kind of all looked the same. They weren’t too big nor where they to small they where built as the family’s grew with in the house. Out side the house. Our town was weird, it had things that looked the same such as houses although none where truly the same. Some had more rooms and some had less.

Everyone dressed like it was the normal time, well except many of the older parents. They wore the usual long dress with the sandal type things. The girls my age around 15-18 wore the short shorts with the tight tube tops that would barley stay on their body. And the boys would wear their pants to below their ass, and the long shirts to cover it up.
Although my brother and I had a good style, it wasn’t what our parents would wear, nor what the slutty girls would wear either. Our cloths where very appropriate for our age and a lot of parents wanted them to look up to us. My brother wore pants that actually fight and would stay above his butt, and a decent shirt that wasn’t to long. I wore jeans that showed nothing and weren’t to small so they would fall and show my skin, the shirts I whore covered me chest and fight perfect for my so called hour glass figure.
“So I hear you want to disrupt the gods and goddess in their time of war.”
Hades sat on our couch and took bites of an apple. His face was light and of course his hair was burning blue, well until you upset him that is. Hades was the god of the underworld. If you made a deal with him, and he promised you something, he would just take your soul, and send it to the underworld.
“What do you want?” I spoke harshly to him. Hades wasn’t the one to trust; of course he was the god of the underworld. He was the type to make a promise over your soul and keep it if you failed or not.
“Now, now. Remember that if the gods lose this war against Spain then-“ I stopped him and sighed and rolled my eyes.
“I know, I Know. If they lose you get my soul. No need to go one I get it.” Hades made a deal with me when I was younger. He told me that if there was a time of war and the gods lose he gets my soul. And if they win, I get it back.
It made sense then but now it doesn’t. Hades took it that night.
“Now, Evangelina, no need for the tone.” He took another bite and spoke.
“Don’t forget, if they lose you come to the underworld with me and stay there for ever.” When he spoke bits and pieces of apple’s hit my face.
God Hades of course had no manners of course he was the underworld devil as people call him.
“You never said anything about that!” Practically shouting I shoved him. He never told me that part.
Pushing me back and dropping his apple his hair turned fire red not blue this time.
“Watch it! I could take your soul and you right now, Evangelina” he was the only to call me that when of course he was pissed.
A knocked sounded his ears and he moved back.
His hair went back to blue and he picked up his apple and said. “Now I must go, but remember if they lose you’re soul is mine.” Hades was truly the devil. He would use your weakness just to get you to do what he wanted. If he wanted you dead he would make it happen. Smirking to me after taking another mouth full bit he smirked to me and left.

“Evangelina! Open the door I have to tell you something it’s important.” By the sound of worry and confusion it was easy to tell the voice at the door was Emily. She sounded every word she ever spoke clear with fear, even if there was nothing to be afraid of. Opening the door she barged in.
“Come in?” she was already in before I could even ask her what was wrong she rambled on about what was going on.
“You’re brother is... Your brother is...” she could say it.
“Will you spit it out?” She took a breath and calmed her self for an hour.
“Emily, spit it out.” I crossed my arms in frustration. Emily was a procrastinator when it came down to things like this. She would put it off and wait a long time in the day while she is standing in front of you. Taking one more breath she spoke. “He’s dead.” She spoke. Tears streamed from her face and rolled down her cheek and silently fell to the floor.
My heart slowed down. “Who is dead?”
No word’s came fro her mouth, just more sobs. Emily tried to speak but nothing came out, she choked back her tears and finally took a breath and spoke.
“Your brother.” She cried more and fell to her knees. Her face was turning read and her tears where starting to look like miniature waterfall. She stayed on her knees for ever, after a while she ended up crying herself to sleep.

It took me a while to realize the tears on my face, and how bad I had been shaking. I lay on the couch hoping to get sleep but the voice I hear, startles me. “I’m sorry for your lose dear Evangelina.” The sound of his voice made my skin crawl. “I didn’t mean to bother you this way, but I felt the need to do so.” He came out from the shadows and had a grin on his face. It made me sick to my stomach.
“You… you killed him!” I rushed to him and tried to hit him, before I even reached his chest he grabbed my arm twisting it to where I all I felt was a snap.
“It was for your own good.” He said. He still had a hold of my arm. “He was holding you back.”
I screamed in pain. Clenching my teeth together I asked, “How was he holding me back?”
He laughed the dark laugh that made me shiver, “He was holding you back from me. I want to keep your soul forever Evangelina. And with your brother in the way, who will always protect you, I figured I would just put him out of his misery now, and not wait tile later in the near future.” He smiled.

Hades grip got stronger and stronger. Hearing the breaking in my arm frightened me.
“Okay!” I yelled out of pain, I couldn’t take it anymore. “My soul is yours.”
He seemed happy to hear that and finally let go and disappeared into the darkness again.
