Bats, or rather; Lack of Bats

Summary:
When Alex visits her extended family's nature preserve, she notices that while wildlife is abundant, one creature is mysteriously absent although fairly common to the area. Just her luck, it's one of her favorites. When she mentions is, her family decides that it would be funny to try and convince her that there aren't any bats on the preserve. Ha-ha, guys. Eventually giving up on getting a straight answer out of any of them, she decides to get to the bottom of this herself.
