Summary:

On her way to a house party, Miss Vivienne Degraine sees someone whom she recognizes, and she knows not quite how she feels about it.  Naturally, they meet up again, and again, and the situation becomes more than a little complicated by conflict and uncertainty between heart and mind.  How much has she changed in three years' time?  Is she a woman to abide by a promise to another, if it is not right?

By the way -- when I went to add chapters, there was no option for putting text into italics, so anything in single quotes is a character's thought.
