Summary: Carson is a hurt sixteen year old girl putting on a tough front who's devastating happenings and manipulative ways don't get her the help she needs, resulting in an almost tragedy. It starts out where you get a look at what her life has come to since her mothers death and her move to a new town. It's been about a year and a half since then but it gives you a look at her late nights of drinking, boys, and the type of sketchy people she's associated with. Then her life takes a turn for the worst when one night it goes too far. She ends up in and out of the hospital, only to be put in the psyche ward. When her time there is up her Dad takes it upon himself to send her off to boarding school which is a mere hell for her the short time she is there. Fortunately Dad realizes what he's done and gets her back fairly quickly. Carson stays in line not too long before she's dragged on to an emotional roller coaster by a boy she's accidentally falling in love with who was also a part of her eventful nights out. When he cuts off talking to her she's left a mess until her older sister comes home from college to mentor and spend time with her beloved little sister. For a few days they spend every second with each other and Jillaan (her older sister) even helps Carson get into a summer school program so that she can catch up in her studies. Upon the arrival of some good news, Carson rushes to tell Jillaan only to find that Jillaan had to leave because of an emergency with her boyfriends family and wouldn't be coming back. Carson is left with no other choice but to become numb to her hardships and scheme her way through life hurting others. She cold heartedly leads on a boy from summer school who she later drops for her previous crush mentioned above. Carson’s seemingly charming principal from summer school decides to sabotage her grades in order to bribe her with the chance to raise them to get what he wants. Carson decides that her grades cannot suffer because it's making things at home harder so she lets herself be traumatized by the monster of a man making her physically sick everyday after he gets what he wants from her. When the boy she's in love with notices her puking routine he proposes that she's pregnant. SO Carson decides to officially say goodbye to her Dad who she resents and run away to live with the boy at his aunts in a harsh neighborhood. Carson starts to love unconditionally the unborn baby inside of her and begins to feel purpose. Unfortunately due to her unhealthy habits the baby is confirmed a miscarriage leaving Carson with no other hope but to return to her bedroom at her old house and end her life in her childhood bed where she's found later that night. BUT it doesn’t end there. You then have the epilogue which explains what good/bad turns the significant characters lives take in the world of being and adult INCLUDING Carson. Yes there’s a twist. It may sound like The Omen or some story of an evil troubled kid but it’s not. She’s a naive little girl and in the end the over all message she sends should be that there is always hope no matter what and a voice for those teens that are just labled as "troubled" because of their decisions wihtout really knowing their struggles.
