Author's note: I love Seth, fan-fiction, and the Breaking Dawn storyline, so why not write my own, combining them?
PrologueI walk, slowly, to the edge of the cliff, looking down into the rushing
water. With me being a half vampire, it can’t be that bad.
You see, I’m Rosalie’s younger sister, biological sister. I was changed
a year after she was, by an immortal child, who was killed by the Volturi
shortly after, but I had already started to change. I was turning from
human to vampire, when my sister, Rosalie, found me and attempted to suck
the venom from my body.
vampire forever fifteen. Therefore, half human, half vampire.
I look even farther down the Cliffside onFirstBeachin La Push,
Washington. My family has lived here for the past… decade? It’s hard to
remember after so long.
I take off my jacket and jewelry. The Natives do this all the time. What
makes me doing it any different? Duh! The Natives are werewolves, or shape
Anyway, even my soon to be aunt Bella has done it.
Salina, this is a bad idea, I say to myself. What would have happened to
Bella if Jake hadn’t saved her?
I ignore that thought and walk to the tippy edge. I take a deep breath.
Yes, one of the human things that I must do is breathing.
I jump off the edge.
The water is icy all around me, but the fall was exhilarating! I haven’t
had that much fun in years! I see a dark shape swimming towards me. Shark?
No, Bear? No way! A wolf? Maybe. It’s not furry though.
“What is one of your kind doing out here, of all places?” a voice asks.
As the shape comes into view, I see that is not a shark or a bear or
wolf. It’s a boy. A native to the La Push area, I’m guessing. He has russet
skin, dark eyes, short black hair, and a smile that lights up the world.
As soon as he sees me, his smile drops and he just stares. “Oh boy. Sam
isn’t going to be happy about this at all,” he mutters.
“What?” I ask, flailing around in the rushing water, my auburn hair
splayed out around me like seaweed.
Before he can finish, there’s a giant wave that I see coming towards us.
The boy grabs me and pulls me underwater, letting the waves crash above us
instead of on us. I try to push away from him, but he keeps a tight hold on
my hand, keeping me below the surface. I try to motion to him that I need
air, but even when we try to surface again, the pounding waves keep us
The boy looks around the water, frantic, and spots an underwater cave
near by, one that I’ve never seen before. He pulls me along with him as we
start to swim towards it. If we’re lucky, it will have an air pocket to
come up to.
As my vision starts to go black, the boy pulls me onto his back and
continues swimming. When we get into the cave, he pulls me up onto the
rocky shore and starts pressing his hands to my chest, trying to expel the
water. “Come on. Breathe.”
I choke up the water and open my eyes, and my blue-violet meeting his
brown, and I’m lost. He’s so handsome. I mean, really. I always knew that
the wolves were good-looking (oh boy my sister would SO kill me for saying
that), but I never met one like this. “What the heck?”
He chuckles. “Yeah. That was… weird.”
“Get off,” I say, scooting away from him. “What did you do?”
“You aren’t a normal vampire, are you?” he asks.
“No. I’m Salina Annabelle Hale Cullen. I’m a half vampire, half human. I
need to breathe, eat, my eyes aren’t gold, I stop aging at fifteen, and I
don’t read minds like my uncle so can you please tell me who you are?”
I sit up, and he says, “I’m Seth Clearwater. I’m part of Sam’s Pack.” I
nod. “Salina, what were you doing out here all alone, on tribal lands, and
cliff diving? Do you know that if Sam had found you, you would be in pieces
I nod. “Yeah. I know. I was trying to see if I could be as tough as you
wolves. Now, you answer my question. What did you do?”
“I saved you from being drowned.” I give him an evil glare. “And I
imprinted on you. Do you know what that is?”
“I-I think so. It’s the wolves’ way of finding their soul mate, right?”
He nods. “And you imprinted on me?” He nods again. “Oh, no. Oh, no, no,
“Salina, what is it?”
He tries to come nearer to me, but I scoot away. “No. Just… help me get
to the surface.”
Seth nods. “Okay. If that’s what you want.”
And this is how Seth’s relationship with me begins.
