Fiction is the truth inside the lie.

No, it's not a very good story - its author was too busy listening to other voices to listen as closely as he should have to the one coming from inside.

The debate of Good versus Evil has always troubled me, but that’s not to say
that I support one side over the other. No, I’m decidedly neutral in my leanings, for
try to see the bigger picture. After all, what if these primitive notions are nothing
more than distractions? What if the true goal of life is to transcend such limitations?
I think that one can only achieve true enlightenment by not picking a side and
simply accepting both aspects as part of the beautiful whole.
I have a friend, who shall remain nameless, who is determined to be the
beacon of Light and Truth to the world. In his mindless pursuit of spiritual purity, he
rails endlessly against the Evils of the world, not knowing that hatred of anything at
all is corrupting. He even rails against neutral?minded individuals like myself as the
ones which allows Evil to flourish; that my desire to remain neutral and my own
person makes me an even greater enemy. To quote him, “There is no neutrality
where Good and Evil are concerned. One day, you will have to make a choice and
refusal to do such will make you the enemy.” This seems to be a fallacy to me, for
how can anyone find enlightenment if their views are shaped by hatred? Regardless
of one’s side of the argument, hatred for the other is always at the root of the debate.
I know all too well the corrupting effects hatred can have on a person, how it
can twist the most honorable and well?meaning intentions to darkness. Hatred
blinds one to one’s own nature and one’s true purpose; it is the ultimate distraction.
It teaches us that the world in which we live is Evil; that even things that are
beautiful are put there to tempt and divert us from our path. Likewise it also teaches
us to hate the systems (religion and government) that seek to obliterate that which
makes us who we are and mold us into a shape more befitting for THEIR vision,
whoever’s vision that might be. Hatred has taught us to distrust anyone who would
try to force us down a path WE DO NOT WANT TO TRAVEL.
I too had suffered under the tutelage of Hatred. My life had become so
poisoned, so corrupted by my own hatred that I grew to despise the world and
everything in it: Good, Evil, everything. I was eager for its destruction, so much had I
despised the world around me. However, as I began to make my downward spiral
into madness and self?destruction, an epiphany struck me. It was an undeniable
truth, that Good and Evil were both necessary halves of the same beautiful whole.
The purpose was not to have one aspect triumph over the other, but that in their
mutual desire to annihilate each other, they achieve a strange sort of balance. Once I
had struck upon this fundamental truth, my hatred was slain by my acceptance of
the world and its true purpose.
It was thus I had transcended the very notions of Good and Evil, for both
have their purposes in life. Evil challenges us and Good nourishes us. Through Evil,
we become stronger and through Good, we become compassionate. How could one
hate either when boons are to be had from both? By accepting both Good and Evil, I
