You're Worth Living For

We sit in the darkness, toes touching, thighs pressed together so that I can feel the warmth from your body flowing through mine. You smell like cinnamon and shampoo, and it leaves me breathless as I stare at your shadowy frame in the dark. Despite the darkness, I can see you smiling, starting off at that crooked smile that I love, and growing into a full grin with all your pearly white teeth showing. You burst out with laughter at the most unexpected times, and I can’t help but chuckle at your delight; you really seem to enjoy life, and live it to the fullest – you’re always happy and look on the bright side of things – a quality I deeply envy – and best of all, you even make this poor, pathetic girl feel like there’s something more out there: something bigger, something better – something worth living for.
