I used to feel so self-conscious about my writing. I didn't like putting my opinions or thoughts on paper, it almost scared me. They were MY thoughts, MY ideas, so why should I put pen to paper and let them loose, let them be so vulnerable, where ANYbody could see them?
But then this argument comes: why should I NOT share my work? I know I'm no Shakespeare, but I will (in all modesty) give myself some credit for being a good writer. I am now comfortable with turning my ideas into a story or poem, and letting them loose. After all, it's fiction! Not my innermost thoughts and feelings. Will I someday read my work (maybe I will be and author) and laugh? I might look at all the mistakes I made in my work, and laugh at my "deep" writing, written when I didn't even know how to use a semicolon!
Or will I look back on this writing and greatly appreciate my youthful writing? Will I realize how well my mind could put together words?
Writing is a beautiful thing, and I am glad that I have the ability to enjoy putting pen to paper.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure...We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God."

Reminds me of how I feel sometimes; very well written. Love it!
