His name was Jesse Eugene Monroe. Friend, companion, lover, boyfriend, to put it simply, he was everything I cared for. Was being the key word. I remember the date as if it had never left my mind. February 11th. Three days before everyone openly shared their love and six days before Jesse's age grew once again. If I had to choose words to describe how I felt, I couldn't. He was imperfectly perfect in every single way. On the 11th of february everything changed. It changed with 5 simple words, one simple question, "would you die for me." It striked me odd but I answered anyways. My answer was, "of course." He said the same 5 words once again. Would you die for me? It was a small game of cat and mouse. His question my answer. No variable, no change. But like all games everything comes to an end. Would you die for me? And before I could answer the gun was point at my temple. This wasn't a game. Slowly he repeated the same short sentence. Would you die for me? I paused with small tears build in my eyes. Would you die for me? Would you die for me?! Would you die for me? Would you?!!! And deep in side I knew I couldn't. I never could. The word slipped my from my mouth smooth and soundlessly. No. And that was it. That one simple word sent a bullet through his brain. Jesse Eugene Monroe. Friend, companion, lover, boyfriend, simply everything, was simply everything.
