Knee-Boarding Mistake

I was laying on the beach, water sitting calmly below me. My legs were in pain, I
could taste the sand in my mouth, horrible. I hear Laughter in the distance as a boat
turns around to come toward me, so I could try again...
My summer started with going to Echo Lake for the weekend and go boating all
day. It was great, we went tubing, wake-boarding, and even knee-boarding. We had lots
of fun.
During the summer we went back to Echo many times, but the last time I went
Had to be the worst. I went there thinking it was going to be the best trip so far, but I
was wrong.
We arrive at echo, It was my mom, my sister, my step-dad, my cousin, my
brother and a lot of our family friends. We started like everybody else when they went
camping somewhere, by setting up camp. it wasn?t hard to set up camp because my
step dad just bought an old 1985 motor-home for us to use, it was great. we set up
plenty of outdoor chairs around the site that we would have the fire later. Once we had
camp set up we all went boating. We started with tubing because we just got a new
tube. It was a blast. Once everyone had a chance to tube, we decided to go to the
cliffs. The cliffs were just giant rocks hanging over the lake. The rest of the day went
great.
The next morning we all woke up and went out again, and the next day, and the
next day. Finally it was our last full day at the lake, and I didn?t want to leave without
knee-boarding at least one time. I hadn?t been knee-boarding for 2 years, so like all
beginners, i wanted to start from shore. Echo Lake at the time had a high water level so
it was hard to find a beach without it being covered in rocks. Luck for us we spotted a
clear beach right away.
I swam to the beach with my knee-board and the rope to pull me behind the boat.
I got set up on the shore, ready to go. My knees were strapped into the board and my
hands were holding the rope tightly. The rope started straightening out as the boat got
further away. Then the boat pulled me. I was supposed to start gliding across the water
towards the middle of the lake. But the sand on that beach was like sink sand. My board
had sunk about half an inch into the sand before I started . So when the boat pulled me
I was yanked forward then I had the rope ripped out of my hands. I was laying on the
beach, water sitting calmly below me. My legs were in pain, I could taste the sand in my
mouth, horrible. I hear Laughter in the distance as a boat turns around to come toward
me, so I could try again. After that day I have always started from the water.
