My Sister, My Hero

In today’s world, many people unfortunately find themselves in a struggle or trying time. When situations like this are presented to us, the one solution we long for is a friend, or a hero. Fortunately for me, I was blessed with a hero at age four. On July 9th, my sister Jessica was born. Also, on this day, little did I know, my lifelong best friend entered the world. Jessie is the second oldest of my triplet brothers and sister. Jessie may only be twelve years old, however she shows substantial heroism in my life because of the adversities she has faced. When she was only two years old, Jessie was diagnosed with Autism, a serious developmental disorder that hinders communication and interaction with other humans. Throughout her life, the ailments from this disorder have been evident. Despite being behind intellectually and socially, Jessie continues to persevere and inspire the rest of my family day in and day out with the way she responds to these situations. My sister, Jessica, is a hero in my life because she exemplifies strength, courage, and wisdom in the way she lives her life despite her Autism.
