Almost every person on this planet has passed through one really difficult stage of a man’s life- the school. School, in principle, gives us knowledge but, in my own opinion, school gives us much more. I’m in the 11th grade and if I have to be honest, I sometimes get bored of it, but I’m sure that in one year (in Bulgaria school ends, when the student finishes the 12th grade) I’ll be really sad for my “second home”. I have extraordinary memories here! Here I made my best friendships, I learned lessons of life and I met some excellent teachers, who have influenced me less or more. Some of these teachers are deep in my heart now because they have put their own hearts in their job!
One of those teachers and probably the One, who has influenced me the most, is Mrs. Kerekovska. I’ll begin with the facts because I want my essay to sound objective. She’s a German teacher and has been teaching for many years, although She’s not really old. She has many language certificates and She’s one of the best German teachers in Bulgaria. She teaches students from 10th to 12th grade, who are in a special class for one German diploma (it’s called DSD). For more than 10 years, none of Her students has failed the exams for winning the diploma. Now with that being said, I think it doesn’t matter if we (the students) like Her on not. Nobody can deny it- She’s a splendid teacher!
She is like King Midas of her profession. She receives the regular students and She transforms them in gold. But that isn’t the only reason for me to choose Her as my favorite teacher. I have many personal reasons. The major reason, however, is that, that Mrs. Kerekovska inspires me!
Let me tell you a little more about Her…
I remember the first time, when I had to get in her class. She walked in the classroom and the silence set in! She is not a feeble person, as the matter of fact She’s very strict and powerful teacher. She might be a strict teacher, as I said, but she’s a good teacher. Actually, the silence in her classes lets us talk. You’re allowed to talk but nobody dares to interrupt you. And then when the next student talks, our strict Teacher will listen to him very carefully and She won’t allow anybody to interrupt him. I believe it’s not even necessary to mention that She’s very fear-minded and wants justice for every single student. All that matters is learning!
I said that everyone in her classes has the right to talk and She will listen everyone very carefully. And that’s true. This woman knows the German language surely better than many Germans. She’s also very intelligent- I think we all can learn so much from her about life and culture. Despite of the fact that She surely has so much smart things to say, She won’t ever, ever deprive the chance of a student for talking! Every one can talk! I, personally, would like to be a teacher or at least to devote myself to pedagogics, so I have read many books about teaching. In one of those books I read: The perfect teacher should aspire to talk as little as possible! And Mrs. Kerekovska tries to do exactly that! She has talked in our classes, of course. She has talked and every time She said something, it was very smart and it was worth to be heard and remembered. But She always tries to make her students think. She has never really liked the idea of teacher giving the kids the knowledge without any effort. She always tries to make the students to reach their own knowledge through hard working- searching in books, internet or even asking other people. Her idea is that, if a child gives its best to learn something on its own, then it would remember it and that’d mean that the lesson has been learned for the child’s entire life. Even Galileo Galilei has said it: You cannot teach a man anything, you can only help him to find it for himself. The fact, that She has always tried to help us to find our own knowledge for ourselves, makes my favorite Teacher admirable!
But not only that -- in her profession she has done a lot. She has reached all the possible tops! And I would like be like her but in my very own way!
One day, I want to be like Mrs. Kerekovska- I want to have a job and to be good in it!
One day, I want to be like Mrs. Kerekovska- I want the passion, she works with.
And one day, I want to be like Mrs. Kerekovska- I want to inspire!
