When I was a kid,
Puddles took on the look of a great sea,
Ready to be crossed and conquered,
In a sailboat,
Now I just take a little hop over them ...
When I was a kid,
The playground at my school seemed so big,
There were so many places to explore,
So much to do,
I went back there today,
I couldn't fit in the swings,
The doors that seemed so big and heavy ...
Well, now I hardly noticed them.
But the thing I notcied most ...
The classroom I started out my school years in,
The desk I had sat in,
The halls,
The lunchroom,
The teachers,
The windows,
They were all ... so small.
But they had seemed so ... big.
