What I Really Think This work has been published in the Teen Ink monthly print magazine.

"How areyou?"
"Good."
(oh, god, that was
the falsest of
blatant lies
to ever escape from
my repressed consciousness.
howcould I possibly
misconstrue the feeling
of drowning
in the primordialooze
of the earth
for a good thing?
what am I really?
I am sick
Iam tired
I am sad
I am anything but fine
I am a puppet being pulledby
some unknown strings,
conforming to the usual,
everydayroutine,
mouthing the one word
that everyone wants to,
expectsto
hear.
if I was myself I
would never say it.)
"No really, howare you?"
"I'm just fine."
