Mourning Rush Hour This work has been published in the Teen Ink monthly print magazine.

Unknown
Hungry pavement
swallowsthe corporeal structure,
jagged buildings protrude
like fangs and clampravenously
around surrendered prey.
The earth belches profusely,
andrudely jokes,
"I will show you fear in a handful of dust."*
Toxicity selfishly billows,
and mournful sirens
wail, personify thecry
of a weeping building.

*(line 30) "The WasteLand," T. S. Eliot
