- What Matters
I wonder what happened to him.
He walked with such pride and dignity.
The perfect features, the outstanding repertoire.
He seemed to have everything a person could possibly
Want and need. Did he ever really exist?
The drugs, only a minor habit at first.
But now he gives off a feeling of pain, emptiness.
The depressed plain old look on his face seems to tell a dark story.
The drugs, an escape from the harsh world.
A world that I myself cannot understand.
I wish I could help; I just don’t have it in me.
What can I do?
Look at him, a terrible mess of a young a man.
He’s not himself anymore.
He no longer smiles, he does not laugh.
And the drugs, maybe they ease the pain.
And the drugs, maybe they cause the pain.
