Freedom
There are many definitions of freedom. To one person, it could mean free from debt. To another, it could mean free from government.
A former slave might say freedom means being no one’s servant.
A rebellious teenager would probably say being out from their parents control is freedom.
Be it freedom from school, parents, government, or even your peers, freedom has many meanings. Despite that, it has a specific meaning to everyone.
To me, freedom means “Ability to be yourself without fear of persecution”.
Many people are afraid of being themselves; they think they have to act or think a certain way to fit in with society.
I believe that when you finally realize how little those oppressing or criticizing you can actually do, you discover true freedom.
They can take your job, your money, your house, your family; they can even take your life. But they cannot take your soul.
So you work on showing who you really are, and as for me, I’m free to be me.
