Life Before My Eyes MAG

By Anonymous

As the night rain dies down, pools of water are invisible

to the eye.

Riding on the water, the wheels suddenly shift off the road.

In view, a telephone pole, and as the tires move closer

and closer, my heart is beating faster and faster.

A waste of life seems imminent,

Unbearable horror overcomes all sensations.

Silence, fear, and terror of dying is everywhere.

The only noise I hear is a horn from another car.

Quickly desperately, putting foot to brake, the car

whirls into a sideways skid and stops.

Breathless, I pull off the road to check the tires.

With shock, I thank my guardian angel (Grandmother)

that I am still alive.
