The slammed door is my good-bye.

I shove the keys despotically into the ignition.

The desolate ribbon of road refracts in my rippling vision.

I stamp on the pedal

With burdening weight,

Stirring up a discord of dust

All behind me.

More desperate velocity and displacement,

The physics of anger.

Yet something inside is festering.

From the abyss of my substance,

A gale of urgency overtakes me.

My foot hops pedals.

I moan in lieu of the brakes.

The tensely coiled steering wheel

Uncoils.

And I turn back amidst the dust

Which only I have stirred up.
