It was July 25, 2023. It was the last day of high school. And it was that day when I went to go see my middle school. I went up the stairs, marvelling at all the changes that was made in such a short period of time. The sign, the lights, even the fences. As soon as I walked in, I was flooded with a wave of memories from my time here. Every step I took, a different memory appeared, with some being delightful and others full of regret. I remember the time I dared my friend to drink out of the water bottle filling station, then had to go to science with a wet shirt. I remembered every time we laughed when someone did something dumb and also the bad memories, when I failed my test, having to face my disappointed parents. I jolted back into reality, opening my eyes to my language arts teacher looking down on me. “Sameer?”, the teacher said, “You here?”. I quickly nodded and the teacher continued on with his lecture. “As I was saying, memories are precious and define who you are……”
