Why stop dreaming when you wake up?

At school, 3 days before summer.

-
Hey did you hear? Some junior at RLHS committed suicide last night. Her name was Emma.
-
(Me) Do you know her last name?
-
No.
-
(Me) Okay.

I take my Spanish final.
My mom picks me up at school.
I go home.

-
(Me) Hey Mom. Did you hear a junior at RLHS committed suicide last night?
-
Oh my God. No.
-
(Me) Her name was Emma.
-
Do you know why?
-
(Me) No. I just heard about it at school. Its sad to. Its almost summer… Maybe it was this weather. It doesn’t feel like summer.

I log onto facebook.
Who is this Emma?
I run downstairs to where my mother is working in the basement.

-
(Me) Mom. Mom!
-
What?
-
I knew her! I knew her! She was my friend!
-
Its okay. Shhh.

We embrace.
I cry.
I wonder about why this could’ve happened.
I remember all the goods times we’ve shared.
I cry more.

R.I.P. Emma. I will always remember you. <3

It is a shame when a beautiful soul is lost. If you are depressed contact someone who can help. Tragedy such as this affects everyone who ever knew you. It is not worth it. A beautiful soul lost can never be returned to this world.
