They said one in every 10 school kids is obese.
We saw that article and counted the kids at the table.
There were 10 of us and one obese kid.
I was the obese kid.
We all had a good laugh.
But mine was forced.
I was hurting inside.
Tired of all the ridicule and fat jokes.
Although I may not show it,
I am hurting inside.
Although I laugh with them,
I am hurting inside.
Although I don’t say anything,
I am hurting inside.
I want them to stop.
I want them to quit.
But they don’t.
And as they continue,
I am hurting inside.
