Some Truth

We snicker “He’s so ugly”
or mutter “She’s way too fat to have a friend”
Some whisper “His dad beats him”
others declare “She wants her life to end”
you may wonder, who is we?
Well, we is all of us
It’s the teens in our schools
the ones making all this fuss
We babble about whatever comes to mind
then lie and say “I’m just joking”
but never forget
there’s always truth
in every “just joking”
