I found Renuka Murthi's article, "Manual Scavenging" to be disturbing at most. The lower caste in India called "Dalits' are treated inhumanly. The jobs they can partake in is manual scavenging. Manual scavenging pays very little and requires the dalit to clean up dry latrines with no protection or equirement. As a result the scavengers are "stricken by disease and deformation" and are dehumanized by their strench due to their forced occupation. Thank you Renuka for bring to light the struggles in the world.
