"Flames We'll Never Light" by Jeffrey L. is a very moving piece. The author writes from the perspective of the main character Peter, whose best friend is a girl named Alena. After developing a deep relationship with each other, Peter finds out that Alena has to move. Peter is utterly devastated by this fact. Though she is not physically with him, she will always be a part of his life.

Though it is a fiction piece, the story teaches an important lesson about letting go. We all have to do it eventually, whether it is letting go of our loved ones or the places we love. Peter loved Alena, but he was forced to let go. The story teaches the readers that, though it may be sad, letting go is inevitable.
