"The Media Carnival" by Jayson Thompson is eye-opening. The unfortunate truth is, this election is a joke. Yeah, we've gotten some good laughs out of politics this year. The internet can be a wonderful and creative place. But should we find the future of our world and its very important issues funny? Should we be choosing our president based on "memes, GIFs, posts, and tweets"?
The answer is a definite "no." Why do we accept being lied to? As Jayson puts it, "What has happened to truth and accountability when a journalist doing his job is news?" The media is a disgrace. It is unreliable. With the absence of real information on the candidates, Americans are left to base their decisions on who throws out the best one-liners and who we can make look like the biggest fool. But let's just make fun of Trump on Twitter, it makes us feel better.
