Brains are organs and just like any other organ, it gets affected by illnesses. However, these illnesses aren't always visible yet it can hinder any of us.

In "Everyone Knows Someone," Nicole Kean explains the stigma surrounding mental illnesses. She describes how society thinks "mentally ill people are dangerous and difficult to talk to." This mentality has always exasperated me because mental illnesses aren't always some pretty girl crying all the time. It isn't just some boy wishing for some muscles. Mental illnesses go so much deeper than that and they affect the most complex of organs.

I applaud Nicole because it's not always so commonly talked about. It's far more than the simple black and white because there is so much gray area to be discovered.
