“Diagno,” a poem I wrote a year ago, was published in the December issue. I wrote it in response to a poem I thought my sister had written about me. I was very wrong; hers had nothing to do with me and should not have been interpreted that way.

I am incredibly sorry for misunderstanding her poem and attacking her for something she didn’t do. I am in the wrong. Please do not make any judgments about her or her writing based on the poem I wrote. She is an amazing person and an amazing writer. It was inappropriate for me to post something so private and incorrect on
TeenInk.com.

I apologize and encourage readers to ignore the author’s note that was published with my poem. My sister’s poem should be read as a singular piece, completely unrelated to mine.
