"Afraid for Sharks" was written with an educational purpose to demonstrate the dangers of the possible, incoming extinction of sharks. I agree with the author, Isabel O, that the entertainment industry has frightened society of sharks, which are not as harmless as inanimate objects, such as toasters and chairs. Though Isabel lacked resource for her astonishing statistics, it was a persuasive argument.
I enjoyed reading about her journey, devoting her time to help preserve the endangered species of sharks. She is an inspiration to teenagers.
