I was very impressed that Jeshanah L. captured a real problem truthfully in her article “Cold-Hearted Youth.” I admired that she differentiated herself from her friends by knowing when it was okay to laugh and when it wasn't. I am glad that Jeshanah targeted this and spoke out about it. Not many teenagers would. I also liked that she didn't try to shame those who laugh at things they shouldn't.

I don't necessarily agree with Jeshanah's statement that teens are being taught that violence is okay, but I do think she did a good job capturing the main problem. Fellow peers are getting hurt physically and emotionally. Victims may laugh it off, but that doesn't mean they are okay. Thank you, Jeshanah, for acknowledging this problem.
