   Just one time he thought.

Then

It was more.

Then

It was again and again.

Then

He couldn't stop.

He grew older and more dependent.

cigarettes

Ate away at his insides.

cigarettes

Gave him shortness of breath.

cigarettes

Gave him a rough hacking cough.

He became so ill he couldn't breath

on his own.

Doctors

Put him in the hospital.

Doctors

put a tube in his throat.

Doctors

Then they took him off the machines.

His heart stopped and he passed.

away.

We

cried for him.

We

buried him.

We

miss him.

Smoking doesn't just hurt the smoker.
