Elmer The Duck MAG
Elmer the duck
swam around in the pond
as little toddlers tossed morsels of bread to him.
Quack quack.
Then the children grew up.
They returned to the pond
with orders from the head honcho
and something else to give to Elmer.
They would dump the barrels in,
green who-knows-what poured out.
Quack.
The next generation of naturalist kids
scamper round the pond
to stare at and take pictures
of all the dead animals.
(silence)
