5 years old, first day of school,
everything in new, everything is cool.

6 years old, I moved schools now,
trying to fit it, but I don’t know how.
Big kids put you down,
jammed in doorway just below the crown.

6 years old, I’ve moved now, I’m happy here,
they are my friends, when I need them they are there.
We have bring your animal day,
and we are never told where we can’t play.

7 years old, I’ve moved now,
can I keep up the show, take my bow.
Everything is big, and people think I am different,
I try to blend in, when I make a mistake it isn’t deliberate.

9 years old, I’ve moved now, I’m happy here,
they are my friends, when I need them they are there.
Helping in the junior school,
feels like a jewel.

10 years old, first day of school,
everything is new, everything is cool.
My outfit is the same as yours,
all dressed up I walk through the doors.
We’re all shy,
but the teacher is a really nice guy.

12 years old, first day of school,
everything is new, everything is cool.
My outfit is the same as yours,
all dressed up I walk through the doors.
A few familiar faces,
take up inside me the empty spaces.
Other girls are not as nice,
made less of sugar but more of spice.
Think they are high and mighty,
but they don’t know what I might be.

13 years old, my parents are apart,
torn this way and that, lead by my heart.
My dad has left, school is getting rough,
people don’t understand that my times are tough.
Trust my heart, my mum’s in tears,
she yells, I have to storm up the stairs.
She’s gone, in her own little world.
I’m on my own, my life has been swirled.
I know I must leave, to where I don’t know,
I’m alone in this big world, I’ve got no-where to go.
Dad makes a choice,
he has heard my voice.
We started our lives again,
our time has begun.

14 years old, how do I cope,
I’ve felt alone, I have no hope.
A week before Christmas, I was in the family court room,
a darkened moment, in rotten gloom.
The judge made his decision, I didn’t approve,
I have belongings at mums, to be moved.
Lawyers always taking my time,
meetings and phone-calls, taking over my mind.
I went through a bad time and nearly made my life end.
I took the time to think it through and made it past that bend.

Nearly 15 years old, times have been tough,
I’ve had all, I’ve had enough.
Not just school, but family too,
the bullying never stops, it becomes a part of you.
I’ve learn't to live, and never say no,
things get in your way, and make you slow.
Pick yourself up and dust yourself off,
grab someones hand and give the world a scoff.
You can’t be stopped,
the hand of bullying finally dropped.
You’ve made it through the rough and tumble,
someone will be there in case you stumble.
