Agreed. School starts way too early for my brain.
Hey, guys, stop hating on school. For one thing, sites such as this wouldn't exist if not for school. I do agree that the people are jerks, but I've learned so much in school, and I love school - it's my haven from home, and vice versa.
Yes thank you. School is amazing, the people you meet, your teachers, everything you learn. It's wonderful.
The only thing I'd really wish for to add to the goodness of school are people that enjoy being there. That's about all.
Well, for me it is because I come from two different worlds (crazy, i know!) but outside school I have friends who are involved in the same activities as I am (4-H, Dairy Princess, FFA) and none of the people in school are involved in any of those things. School is a duty and place I never really want to be, but I don't exactly hate it. More like strongly dislike lol
i think people hate school now a days because we are being forced to go to school. i mean really, back when only the really rich white boys got to go everyone wanted to go too. i think it has something to do with the mind. when you can't do something, you want to do it but when youre told you have to do something then you don't want to. i personally love school but thats because its my way to exscape my family.
i hate how the teachers do that. my pre-cal teacher does it all the time and does it in bulk and then expects us to have it done along with our other classes homework the following morning
School's not challenging at all = Boring. If it was hard I'd prefer it to how it is now.
I seriously hate school. But I didn't always hate it; it started in about grade 3. I don't go to a very good school, as you can probably tell from the following reasons:
1. The teachers all scream at my class. I'm dead serious here. They scream at us as soon as we walk in the room, without giving anyone even a chance to prove that they're going to behave well today.
2. The bullying culture. My school has a HUGE bullying problem and it's gotten so bad that in a school of 120 kids, 7 have moved this year alone because of bullying.
3. It doesn't encourage achievers. The pace of the entire class is dictated by the slowest learner, so guess what happens to people like me who don't have to work hard to get 90s? I get to read a book for about two hours in total every single day! Which is fine, since I like reading, but school is supposed to teach you something, not bore you. Oh, and add to that, if you're even slightly above average, the aveage kids will tear you to shreds.
4. I am the only girl in a class of 9 people. Yeah, I could be friends with some of the guys, but then the drama of "OMG are you two going out?" is so not worth it.Somehow I think my hatred of school is completely justified.
Ouch, that does sound really awful D:
Now can you see why some people hate school?
Hmm... well personally, I love school... It's the only time I can actually hang out with my friends and get away from my family for a bit. I guess it depends on the school you go to? I mean, I've heard of problems with bullying and messed up teachers in my friend's schools, but in mine, we actually encourage (or try to ;P) each other and are supported by our teachers. Yes, the work sucks, but a good network of close friends and teachers makes up for it :) We're a really small school so maybe that's why we don't have a lot of problems? *shrugs* I really don't know. Just a little bit of what I think :)
I don't like hate school. I just think it's a waste of time. I wake up every morning and go to school and deal with stress. A lot of time the stress is over things that we won't even need later on in life. I have to deal with people bothering me because they have nothing better to do with there lives. I have to deal with teachers who teach the same thing over and over some many times that I can recite what there going to say. The worse part about that is, if your going to teach us things we already know don't expext me to pay attention. This year so far i have ahd my phone consfiscated 5 times, my ipod confiscated 3 times, something I'm writing on consfiscated 12 times, and a book consfiscated 23 times. I also have the oppposite problem with some teachers. Sometimes I can walk into class and see we have a test oer something that we haven't even covered yet. I have to deal with homework and extracurricular activities. I just feel that kids go through a bunch of stress and then go out into the real world and they're still not ready for what's out there.
Sakumi: I'll bet my school has less people than yours. That just makes things worse, you know. My school has 120 people in K-12.
Because you have absolutley no freedom and are stuck in classrooms all day. And most of my teachers hate me, so that doesn't help.
I've always liked school, but it's not school i like so much as what we lear. I really like critical thinking. But, as my friends say, i am me. Grades are a bad idea. And this is from someone who you'd think would like them.
Wow, there are lots of horror stories about schools on this thread.
My school is great. The staff, teachers, academics, and atmosphere is just amazing. It's no surprise that it's considered one of the top ten schools in Alberta. I don't really like that it's a Catholic school, but I can put up with it.And even though I love school, it's kind of a waste of time. I could do everything it takes the whole day to do in just an hour or so (if you cut out all the chatting with friends, activities, and breaks). Of course, it's not a complete waste of time. Every experience I have is a learning experience, including watching a movie in class or talking with my friends during lunch. Even if I'm not writing an essay or calculating the surface area of a cylinder, everything I do at school helps shape me into the person I am.
I used to hate school, but I think I'm neutral. I think it's a waste of time to go because, I learn naturally on my own so I get bored easily. The only good thing about school would be is to chill out with my freinds and the teachers. Other than that, I could really care less about school.
I never liked school because i felt like i was being forced into doing something i didnt want to do glad i did it know. College is much different i actually enjoy going and learning. Whereas highschool i just kinda goofed off and hungout with my friends.
I thought I hated it, then, I left school after I had finished my exams (everyone left, I didn't drop out) and I now have 3months before I go to college and well, meet new people, I won't see some people ever again, I thought I hated school but now that I've left, im scared as hell and wish I made more of school while I was there :/
MAKE THE MOST OF IT. TRUST ME!
