Asking him out, help!

So the guy I like doesn’t come back from working at a camp until the end of July. If you haven’t seen my other posts, basically for a couple of months we’ve been talking and flirting a lot, and we’ve both said we like each other. We’ve even gotten the whole people thinking we’re together thing. But he’s shy, and like I said this has only been going on for a couple of months, so he hasn’t asked me out yet. I start college at the end of August, so my window of opportunity is closing. That’s not to say I’ll never have time to go out with him when I’m in college, just that there’ll be less time. So, how long should I wait before I just ask him out? And if/when I do it, how should I say it? I really kind of want to see if he wants to go to a local theme park with me. Should I start off saying that I really want to go, and see if takes the hint, or should I just be like, “Hey, do you want to go to ____ with me?” My other problem is that on the one hand I want to make it more of a friend thing that can turn into a date, but I won’t be able to do that if his brother comes. They are basically always together, and I don’t know how to say that I just want it to be us without making it obviously a date.

How about you get tickets to go to the local theme park, then tell him you have an extra and if he wants to go, have him call you. then when your on the whatever-you-want-to-call-it-becaause-it's-not-a-date, hold his hand when your on a ride alone. He still might not take the hint, but it's worth a shot. If that doesn't work, I think you should just ask him out.
