My best friend who I have known since i was 9 is trying to make our relationship more complicated then i want it to be. he has become like a brother to me. Lately he asked his Ex-girlfriend to ask me out for him and she did so in front of my entire business class. I do not know what to do because we have not spoken in almost a week and i am mad but i do not know how to tell him the truth and still keep my best friend. Help me please!!
You have to talk to him about his feelings. Make sure he knows that you like him but not romantically, and tell him that you want him to remain like a brother to you. He will be hurt but hopefully he will understand and everything can sort of return to the way it was.
ok. remember: everything happens for a reason. if he is truly as good of a friend as you say he is, then i'm sure he'll understand your decision not to bring your relationship to the next level. also (just my personal opinion) asking someone out through another person is a bit.............lame? cowardly? idk the word......i'm sure he's a great guy, but he's obviously either embarassed by his feelings or not really sure about them just yet. you should definitely just sit down and talk with him, though. it's no use giving each other the silent treatment :P
hey, thanks for the advice i am going to give it a shot. oh and Peaceloveandcrosscountry the whole him asking another person to ask me out for him is really what has me mad.
