In this situation you should let the other person know how you really feel. It will be scarry but you never know till you try. Being in the friendzone can be scarry and it sucks.
Ah good ol' Friendzone yeah I tell ya there is a point when you realize that the 'friendzone' is just a word to describe how it feels to be rejected by the one you actually like or have feelings for that are beyond 'attraction'. Anyway, best take a leap of faith then hang on the cliff asking what if?
What's should you do in the friendzone? For me, leap out of it; however for some that don't like challenges or hardship, just stay in it and find someone else.
