Okay. So.
Majority (Well all) of my friends are "DIrectioners" or "Beliebers" which isn't a bad thing at all. However. When it comes to MY music, that's when things get a bit rocky. Certain persons absolutely love impersonating my "emo" music and teasing me for it.
I don't think my music's weird, really. What do you guys think? Do I deserve all this? It's not that I care about what they do, I'm just curious to know if theyre right.
My favorite bands:
.Evanescence
.Breaking Benjamin
.Skillet
.Apocalyptica
.Flyleaf
So basically I listen to rock with a bit of an alternative twist and a hint of Christian flavor.
Thoughts?

Nope, plenty of people listen to punk rock.

Just walk into Hot Topic and you'll meet your own kind :D

I've met a lot of people that listen to emo music, it's not my thing, but to each their own.

music is all about listening to what makes you truly happy or ilicits a certain emotion you want to feel at that moment. so if people make fun of the music you like or call it weird, just remember youre the one that is expressing herself externally while your classmates only have the power to judge, and trust me, eventually youll find someone that shares your interests almost to the mark. ders mah 2 cents :B

Yeah, I did actually! Flyleaf also has a lot of Christian influence in its music aswell, and Evanescence actually started out signed onto a Christian label. It's funny how people like to accuse rock as music of the devil when a lot of it has Christian roots (It all does acutally, as rock came from gospel).

Rock came from blues, jazz, and country music, not gospel.

I think everone is entitiled to have their own taste in music. That's why music is so diverse. Not everyone has to be a Belieber. No offence to all the Beliebers, but his music isn't that great.
I love Muse and a lot of indie music. My cousin thinks I'm emo and I'm far from that. I just love diversity. It gets boring listening to the same thing over and over again. Like "We Are Never, Ever Getting BAck Together", I like this song but I'm a little tired of listening to it on the radio every day 20 something times.
Don't be ashamed of your taste. By the way, do you like Muse or fun.?

Honestly, no one's music taste is genuinely 'weird' or 'strange'. There are too many people that don't like One Direction, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, etcetera, for it to really be considered 'normal', even though to many people it is, mainly just because it's what's popular right now.
But if you like every one of the bands you listen to and the music you listen to is perfect to you, then it really couldn't matter less what anyone else's opinion of it is, because no one has exactly the same specific music taste as anyone else, so who are they to judge?
By the way, I also love Evanescence and Flyleaf :) My favourite bands are My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, and the list never ends.

Music is a way to let your feelings out. If you enjoy the music you are listening to, then it shouldn't matter what other people think. There are also many ways for you to connect to people who share common interests, like here. I also love the bands you listed, plus a ton more! I personally don't care when people say things about "emo" music, but if your friends are really bothering you about it, you should talk to them. They will likely stop if they know you don't like the way they talk to you.

Looks like pretty good stuff to me. And if you like being weird, that's fine, but don't let yourself feel like some kind of abomination if THEY call you weird.
Just keep listening to whatever stuff you like :)

I love those bands. Music is a personal thing. Its about you not anyone else.
I totally know where your coming from with the "emo" teasing and stuff.  If they dont like it oh well. Thats theyre problem. if you like it, thats what matters
