Hey, I'm coffee and I'm kinda new on here. I'm a guitarist and I really wanted to collaberate with someone on a song. I'm good with anything but pop, country, or reggae. :)

A little late to the party, but: I play guitar, percussion (marimba, etc.), vocals, and a bit of piano, violin, and mandolin. I can also play the recorder. xD

Aw, I'm not all that impressive. :) I just have a music teacher for a mom, so my house is filled with instruments for me to mess around with.

I've been playing piano for eight years. My dad is a guitar teacher and owns a music store, so I've been exposed to music my whole life. He tried to teach me guitar, but it never took. I like those good ol' black and whites more anyway. I just took my Intermediate Music Theory exam last week, and I'm going for my level 6 piano next year! Yay!
^Wow, just read it over and realized how random that paragraph kind of -banana- was.

Aaanyyywaaaysss, my sister actually wrote a song that's going on my dad's new album. But sorry, I don't think I'd be much help.

Nonsense half note everybody body can help make a song, its pretty easy. Seriously, everheard of the song called red solo cup, written as a bet, mad a million hits. If not, youtube it.

Sure, anybody can write a song. But a good song?
And, no, just cuz lots of people like it, doesn't mean it's a good song. There are lots of famous songs out there that are hard to even stomach. :/
Music is more than just noise. It's art!

^^ Agreed. A song should mean something. It doesn't have to be serious, or particularly deep, but the writer should put some little bit of themselves into it. I'm not just talking about words, either; notes and rhythms can carry just as much weight.

You guys are right, everything in the song should tell a special story. The bass line, the lyrics, the guitar solo, drum beat, it all matters :)

I play the banjo, got mesmerized with the way banjo player's fingers could move from a young age, so I had to pick it up myself. I wish I could play the guitar, but I've never gotten a hold of one.
