i might get some when im old enough. i heard a lot of people say they hurt, does anyone on here know???
I want to get some too! I'm only 16 so I don't know what it feels like......the pain's worth it to me, though.
I plan on getting at least four. :P
yeah that's the number i was thinking, 4. no more than 6. im thinking about getting something on both of my wrists and my ankles, on both sides maybe, lol!!!! i always wonder if that'll look stupid, something on my inner and outer ankles..... if that's what you call it. what do you think??? :)
That sounds cool. I'm getting one on my collarbone/shoulder (birds), one on the back of my neck (stars or something like that), one on my forearm (idk what yet), and one on my side (a bible verse in Latin)......possibly a cross on my right shoulder too (the back).
Yes, I know how it feels. I have one. Want some advice on getting tatoos?
Don't get one. Ever.
And it hurts more the closer the skin is to bone. (your side, ankles, feet, wrists, jaws, some places on the shoulder, ect.)
Why shouldn't I get one? It's art.
@RarelyJaded, that sounds nice!!! :) very simple.
@Gryffindor oh gosh, you're scaring me. i heard it feels like they're scraping your skin off.
true, but there are other ways to express art. oin my opinion, they;re not worth it because: tattoos cost, are potentially dangerous(depending on where you get them), and hurt. and they're not removable - so they better be something that you really like.
Actually, they are removable, but unless technology has progressed a lot since I last heard about this, it's more painful, more time-consuming, and more costly to remove them than it is to have them done. It's definitely something to consider when having one done, but if people still want them, then I don't see the problem.
i understand where you guys are coming from. im only 15 though, i don't know if i really want one, im just thinking of it right now. but if i do get some, they'll be meaningful, nothing stupid.
i agree with gryffindor because they really REALLY hurt. make sure if you get one thats something that you want on there forever unless you want to pay thousands of dollars to get removed which is dangerous...
I have always thought that getting a tattoo is a good way to kind of show off who you are. As long as it's meaningful. Plus it's one of the few things that you can really change about yourself. I personally would only ever get a really small tattoo (mostly cuz I hate pain...) but I think as long as it's meaningful to you, and something you really like, and it's done safely, getting a tattoo is just a really kool art form.
As for how much they hurt, I'm only 14, so I wouldn't know. :-/
thank u @IAmMyOwnHero that's the point i was trying to make. If i even get anything at all (im still not sure) it will be meaningful.
Art can be expressed other ways. Putting ink under your skin to express an image that you think is great now, when later you may think is stupid. I swear, all I wanted was a Tatoo. And I went and got one.
Waste of beauty, time, and money. (Yes,I am beautiful)
If you want a Tatoo, get a temporary one. That will last a couple days then disppear, you'll like that one more.
Gryffindor: Just because you thought it was a mistake doesn't mean that everyone will. Look at all those people out there with tattoos that love them. Not everyone has the same perspective as you.
I agree that people should definitely think a lot before permenantly (I mean, in the sense that the removal procedure is very difficult) marking their skin with something, but that doesn't mean that no one should ever get tattoos.
IM STILL GETTING ONE XD
My dad has a tattoo, and he's planning to get another soon. I'm going with him to watch, and see what it's like... I definitely want to get a tattoo (or four.. ;) when I'm old enough, because I do feel like it's a good way to express yourself. To Gryffindor- I see where you come from, but I side with Jubilex, just because you think it was stupid doesn't mean others will.
Of course, they do hurt, a lot. I don't know how I'll react to all that pain when it comes time, but I do think it will be worth it.
