It is to me.... What makes death so interesting to us humans? Os it all the poems, tv shows, movies, music and other media that makes it so intresting? I'd like to hear some thoughts

It's interesting because it's the unknown. We all know that everyone dies at the end of their lives, but most people don't know why we have to die, what exactly happens when we die, or what comes after.

It's...intriguing and mysterious to me, just as life is. I think it's wrong to fear death, as nobody knows what really happens upon parting this world. It bugs me when people say "Well I know I'm going to Heaven" or "I know nothing will happen"...it undermines and strips the value away from death, and the universe itself. As humans, we pretend to know everything, that we're so advanced...when really, we don't know much at all. Death is the great uncharted territory. That's why it's the inspiration for so much artwork and films and music, as ArtemisArty83 pointed out. Do I look forward to experiencing it? Well, not enough to make me wish to stop living, but I do think about it often...the possibilities. Maybe I'm just fascinated with the unknown as a whole, and death is the height of that, the precipice, the peak.
I think what scares people is not the finality it may bring, but what else may come. It's a brand new ocean, and we're all brought towards it on the same river of life.

Suicidal? Emo?

Not all emo's want to die. Most don't.

True. Most of my emo friends, including myself, enjoy life.

Yup, my friend is emo. She is loving her life. SHe just got engaged. Death is something that everyone fears at least a little. But I can understand someone not fearing it because we're used to it happening. It's like life we know it happens.

I agree, Amie. Death, I think, is just another part of our imperfect life.

if my outlook is nice yours is awesome........ you could teach some people a lesson on the silly fear of death................. the way i think is we all die eventually so why fear it?

Cor, I'm not an emo or suicidal, that was said philosophically

Another aspect of it is that not only is death intriguing, but it is also a thing of nature. Doesn't nature always seem pure to you? It does to me. When I think about death I think of things like waterfalls and frogs or crickets singin and the night sky, something peaceful, you know? And connected to all that stuff too as a thing of nature, like I said.

Sometimes I think back to the past years...... When so many deaths took place in my life, and I accepted them, I didn't get bereved (sp?), I just got over it, ya know?
Oct. 12, 2012 at 9:23 am
how do you accept them? for some ppl tht died recently in my life, i cried for hrs then felt bttr, but 2 ppl & a dog died last month and i cant accept it........ its scaring me bcuz normally i can accept death of loved ppl & animals rlly easyily ( aftr crying for hrs) but with these deaths i cant

Just becuase we accept death doesn't mean it's not going to hurt us when people die.
Oct. 15, 2012 at 11:24 am
True. But let me revise my earlier statement. Only three have greatly affected me - two people, one animal.
