"I fo'gi'e you..." Shiloh said. She'd pretty much stopped cying now and had relaxed totaly. She was hungry but didn't move from Nathan becuase she felt warm adn safe now.
"So''y for ma''in' you thin' I di'n' ca'e." she muttered.
Nathan shrugged. "I was the one letting my emotions get the best of me when I should have tried to be stronger for you." He glanced at the squirrel. "You need to eat before we go." His arms fell from around her.
Shiloh nodded she took the cold squirrel and nibbled it slowly,
"We goin'? We're no' s'ayin' he'e tonigh'?" Shiloh asked as she ate slowly. She finished off the squirrel and tossed the bones into the fire.
"Ha'e you ea'en?" she asked worriedly, wishings eh hadn't eaten the whole squirrel before asking.
Nathan waved his hand dismissively and helped Adrian onto Star's back. "I'd like to go further into the wilderness to camp. It's much safer that way." He told her. "I wish we could stay at an inn, but Adrian and I are at too much risk..." He ignored the hunger clutching at his stomach.
Shiloh nodded, she was really tired and wished they could stay here for the night but she got up and climbed onto Shadow holding onto Shadow's mane tightly. Shiloh understood why they needed to go further into the wilderness though.
Nathan sensed her feelings and sighed, climbing onto Shadow's back and wrapping his arms around her. He took her hands, making her loosen her grip. "I don't think he likes you hanging on so hard..." He mumbled. "And don't worry, we'll be able to rest in no time."
Shiloh uneasily allowed her hands to be loosened. She relaxed enough to lean back against Nathan,
"I's a'righ'." she mumbled tiredly. As they started moving and Shiloh straightened up a bit to avoid alling asleep while riding. :ast time she'd fallen to sleep while riding it hadn't gon eto well.
Nathan held to her, sighing softly into her hair. "If you want to relax I'll make sure you don't fall..." He murmured. "You seem really tired."
Adrian nodded in agreement but kept his mouth shut and eyes down. He was concerned for Shiloh.
Shiloh blinked and shook her head,
"No...don' wan' to s'eep on a haws ag'in." She muttered,
"You sai' it won' be 'at lon'." She added as an excuse. She glanced at Adrian to make sure he was OK before looking ahead again.
Nathan shrugged. "Suit yourself." He mumbled. They rode on in silence until both Nathan and Shadow were satisfied with the location. He slid off of Shadow's back and gently lifted Shiloh down, hoping she didn't mind him spoiling her so much.
Shiloh, despite not wanting to had fallen asleep during the ride and stirred drozily when she was lifted off Shadow but didn't really wake up,
"Ma'e su'e you an' A'rian slee'..." she muttered half conciously. She never really woke up though and seeme dto fall back to sleep after speaking.
(Sorry i'm not forgetting about this I'm just not able to post due to sickness...)
((That's OK, hope you get better son!))
Nathan smiled weakly and laid her down carefully, making sure she'd be comfortable. He kissed her forehead and helped a sleepy Adrian down. After making camp and making sure everyone was cared for, he laid down next to Shiloh and put an arm around her protectively.
Shilohed rolled over so she was curled up tightly against nathan, she felt strangely cold and was shivering even. She slept pretty easily though having been utterly exhausted emotionally and strangely physically after today.
It was early. The sun was just starting to peek through the branches of the trees within the forest. Nathan opened his eyes and looked down at the small figure in his arms, smiling slightly to remember it was Shiloh. He kissed the top of her head and sighed, just lying there a moment, enjoying the morning.
Shiloh awoke but stayed still breathing slowly, she smelled Nathan and the morning. Shiloh didn't want to move she wanted to stay curled up safe and warm, but she felt her stomach turn. She rolled over and geting up stumbled at a little distance from camp before getting sick again. It didn't take her too long to empty her stoach.
Nathan sat up and stretched, gazing after her with worry in his eyes. He allowed her some time to get over the sickness, getting up and going the oposite direction to relieve himself. He woke Adrian and prepared to hunt for something to cook for breakfast.
Shiloh came back to their campsite and sat down, she shivered, it was chilly out this morning.
"A'rian you min' s'r'in' a fi'e?" Shiloh asked the boy quietly. Nathan was gone, she guessed he was hunting or som.ething, hoping he hadn't decided to go off on his own again.
Adrian nodded. "Sure I guess." He mumbled, getting up to gather the wood and kindling he'd need. It wasn't that hard and he didn't have to stray far. Soon he was starting a fire, coughing as the flames started growing. "There." He mumbled. "Now we can keep warm."
