(TI lied, I didn't even reply.)
Adrian wouldn't look at them. He kept his eyes down.
Nathan shook his head. "Shiloh I'm a failure, and a breaker of promises. I deserve to be left alone..." He looked down. "I deserve to feel like you hate me..."
Shiloh profoundly explained again, "Pe''le li' 'nd br'ak pr'm'ses. Th't d''sn't' 'lwa's mean th'y fa'l."
Shiloh rode silently for a few moments as she gathered her thoughts together,
"Na'han you s'ill a goo' per'on...dra'on, e'erybo'y ma'es mista'es, e'erbo'y is powe'les at so'eti'e or ano'her....an'...." she paused thinking, "An' tha' don' ma'e you ba' jus' ma'es you no'mal...e'erbo'y dese'ves a se'on' cha'ce." she slowly finished hoping she made sense,
"I mea' I do'e thin's I ain' prou' of I do'e ba' thin's bu' we bo'h ha'e to mo'e on from tho'e thin's and fo'gi'e oursel'es an' s'op ta'in' i' ou' on o'hers"she finsihed, shrugging.
Nathan shook his head again, kissing her hair. "I don't think you really understand everything that hurts me right now. I appreciate the effort, Shiloh but...I'm sorry." He fell silent, nothing more to say. He saw that she didn't see all of it, and it was pointless to talk about it anymore.
"Then hel' m.e un'ers'an!" Shiloh said. Shiloh was tired of people acting upset adn angry at her becuase she didn't understand and then not even trying to help her understand. She hated people giving up on her understanding something and then being upset at her like it was all her fault.
Nathan wrapped his arms around her and closed his eyes. "Shiloh I've hurt you. I promised I'd come back and I gave up. Do you know how much that hurts? I could never forgive myself for that. On top of that, I'm running away because I'm afraid, like a coward. I'm not even going to try to face my problems..."
"You..You were 'hained up, how coul' you co'e ba'?" Shiloh asked mostly rhetoricaly(sp?)
"An', an' wha' a'e you ru''in' from? You're bra'e an' st'ong, you ain't in the for'ress an'mo'e you can figh'." She pointed out. She looked over at Adrian and Star yo make sure they were keeping up before looking again at the road ahead of them.
"Shiloh..." Nathan took a deep, slow breath. "When I knew I was going to be captured. I didn't fight. I tried to send you and Shadow away. I tried to cut off things between us." He inhaled her scent deeply. "I'm too afraid to face my father...Too afraid to go back..."
Shiloh seemed to freeze she'd thought Nathan didn't want her to come because he didn't want her hurt not becuase he didn't want her.
"If you don' wan' me any'mo'e I'll lea'e....I don' wanna a ma'e you be aroun' someo'e you don' wanna be nea'." she said softly.
Shadow halted suddenly, irritated.
Nathan kicked his side. "Come on, we need to cover ground Shadow, don't go pulling this now."
Shadow stood his ground though, refusing.
Nathan sighed, sliding off of his back and looking at Shiloh. "That's not it. I..." He hesitated. "I promised. I promised you I'd come back. I knew losing me would hurt you. But then when things turned bad...I just...I thought the best thing was to make you forget about me. I'm just going to keep hurting you. I gave up, and I tried to keep you away. I thought you'd move on. It was for your sake. But it was really just because I'm a coward. I know I'm just going to mess up."
Shiloh shook her head it all sounded like one big excuse for him leaving. He didn't want her anymore! Shiloh winced and suddenly slid off Shadow and doubled over dry heaving again as her stomach lurched. She felt dizzy and tired as she dry heaved, spitting only bile up.
Nathan whimpered. "Shiloh..." He put his hand on her shoulder. "I love you. I wanted to be with you for the rest of my life but things seem so complicated. The way you reacted to Shadow asking if we'd mated...it hurt me." He hated to say it, but he had to. "You have to be preg.nant..." He mumbled.
Shiloh leaned against a tree to relax and stop shaking from being sick again,
"No...No I don' wan' to be I'm no' e'en goo' 'at ta'in' ca'e of 'A'rian righ'!" She exclaimed. She climbed back onto Shadow,
"Na'han I reac'ed 'at way cau'e...I don' wanna ma'ed...e'er..i can't e'en thin' of doin' 'at wi'hout feelin' li'e I'm go''a ge' hur'...." she attempted to explained.
Nathan grew dark, closed off. "Right. So you'd never trust me." He shook his head, picking up Adrian, who protested, and moving him onto Shadow's back. He climbed up onto Star's. "I need some time alone." He told Shadow. "We'll meet up later." With that, he and Star galloped away.
Shiloh tried to protest, she hadn't meant that that way! She just meant she was scared and couldn't get over her memories and childhood. She watched Shadow ride off and then sighed, she'd moved back so Adrian was in front of her.
"I don' e'en know whe'e we're goin'!" she said in exasperation. She put her hands to her face covering her eyes.
(I made no errors or typos. Please read my post once again. He took Star. Shadow can lead them just fine.)
((I know, Shiloh's a bit...emotional right now and she isn't really thinking about her options right now.))
("She watched Shadow ride off...")
((Sorry I meant Nathan, typo...my aplogies..))
