"If you don't risk anything, you risk even more." Erica Jong.
What is the theme and relate it to yourself, another text or to the world.
This is a great exercise and I love quotes a lot.

Hey, I'm new to Teen Ink and I was wondering if u could pls comment/rate my work ? :) the link is TeenInk.com/poetry/all/article/535572/The-World-Is-Empty/
i think that as human beings, we all must risk, meaning that we all must try no matter if we fail or succed. If we don't risk, then the only option is failure or just living through mediocrity. WE were all born with gifts and talents and if we don't risk, those talents and gifts will go unnoticed, it will be wasted, it will be like the pearls that are trapped within oysters. Anyway, i hope i'm not babbling on, and i love quotes too! :)

I also love quotes :)  quotes help put exactly what I'm thinking and feeling into such elegant wording. Quoting is like learning another language, and being able to call a quote to mind for hard situations is comforting.
"It is a pleasure to be able to quote lines to fit any occasion." - Abraham Lincoln

“Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.”
-- Leonardo da Vinci
I feel like this represents poetry and art very well. Poetry paints a picture in your mind of an emotion, while a painting can capture that emotion inside a picture. It's a beautiful comparison. :)
