I wake up with no idea where I am, how I got here, or what happened last night. The last thing I remember is going to a party with my best friend. Looking around, I can see I'm in the middle of a forrest and the sun has yet to rise. My dress is torn, I'm missing my right shoe, and I'm covered in blood. I suddenly find my self terrified that whoever left me here is going to come back for me. At the same time, I am curious as to whos blood I am covered in, because there is no way it's mine.
I hear a scream off in the distance. Could that be Regina? I run, despite the aching pain coursing in my legs, with a worse case scenario in mind. I shout her name, no answer. Sprinting through the trees, I stumble on a root. I propelled myself into a clearing. Brusied and bloodied, Regina climbed a tree at the sight of me. I asked her to come down, but she only screamed and climbed higher.
"Get away from me! You are one of them! To think that I, Regina Fallen, trusted you!"
"What are you talking about? One of who? Regina, it's me, Lorael, your best friend." I respond, puzzled by her strange behavior. I start to climb the tree, but she throws hershoe at me, hitting me in the head and making me fall. "Stay away!" She screams, terrified and more angry than I have ever seen her before in our 11 years of friendship. Suddenly I hear loud foot steps coming from the group of trees behind me. I hurry to climb up my own tree before the owner of those footsteps sees me.
What looked like a massive hairy beast prowled around and sat under my tree. It barked and growled and snarled at my dear friend. I was more curious than frightened. He stared at me with those longing blue eyes and seemed to call me with his deep voice, but was I perhaps imagining this? No. I climbed down the tree.
"Do you...remember me?" he spoke
"I-I'm not sure." I recognise those eyes. "How do I know you?" I walk closer to the beast and look into his eyes. I feel a tug in the back of my mind, as if theres some hidden memory trying to reveal itself to me. A sudden wave of emotions crashes over me so fast that its nearly impossible to identify one emotion before it is replaced. In the end, all I feel is pure, undying love. I cannot be sure if the love I feel is towards the beast sitting in front of me, or coming from it, but I am sure of one thing, I know this beast from somewhere, and there is some sort of connection between us.
"Heh. Maybe this will help." he muttered
I saw the fur diminish, its back distorted itself, and the shap jagged teeth shrunk. I saw skin, hair, a man and a beast at the same time. I was confused.
Suddenly, a rush of memories fills my head. Memories filled with trust, and love, and romance, and undeniable comfort.
"I remember now. I missed you, James."I walked over and kissed him, rather passionately. "Sorry, I felt a sudden urge to do that. Why couldn't I remember anything?"
He laughed to himself and grinned at me before answering. "Because, until now, we couldn't be sure you could keep the secret of our people, but now you're one of us, so you have no chioce." I stared at him, obviously confused. "Don't you remember what happened last night?"
"Not really no. Care to explain?"
Well, it all started when you arrived at the party last night. A bunch of loners, who from my taste, were way out of your leauge swarmed you like insects. After seeing what all the fuss was over, i pushed my way through the crowd to find your friend batting them off one by one. You were cowering behind her, egging her on.
"i kind of remember that... i dont understand it, but guys seem to swarm towards me like im a super model lately. i lost count of how many people ive had to regect in the last week. it never used to be like this. what happened after thst?"
Papparazi were ruthless towards you. The camera flashes turned you as blind as a bat in sunlight. You were confused, helpless rather, as they tried to force you away from the car. Yet again, he jeered, you never even made it close to the automobile.
