Panting hard, I run through the cold metal hallways that seemed strangly familiar. Sire stops at an intersection, thinks for a bit, and pulls me to the left. I run after her. After only two minutes, my lungs feel ready to explode. Finally, we push through the outside doors. Fresh air fills my lungs.
That night, Sire and I rest in a nearby cave against a stone cliff. I start a fire using the flamethrower tool in the Pick.
((Poor Skyford gets knocked out a lot :/ )))
I wake as i hit my head on the table I am tied to. I takes me a moment to ralize that we are moving and I am in the back of some sort of truck.
My entire body is tied down and beside me is Sire. She is unresponsive when I call to her.
Just then there is a shout and the sound of gun fire and the truck slams to a halt. The door flyes open and a man in a mask with a gun points at us, "Get them before Cy can get his dirty paws over them a gain."
"Come on," says one of the men. "Do you want to get left behind or not?"
I rush up to them, not looking back.
After what seems like endless climbing, we are at the summit of the mountain. Behind us is the lab, with it's eerie green glow. In front of us is an endless mountain with only one light in the middle of it.
"Here," says the other man. "Drink this." He hands me a water bottle full of a green liquid. Thirsty, I down it quickly. It tastes like lime fruit, like the ones back at Sire's village.
There must've been something in the drink, because I'm not tired at all. My muscles are coursing with energy, my veins pumped with blood. I easily keep up with the men now.
After a short amount of time, we reach the source of the light: a small safehouse. It's made of the same material as the S-92, titanium. Quickly, one man shuts off the light coming from it and everything is plunged in instant darkness. I hear metal clicking in metal, a doorknob turning, and then I am quickly pushed into the house. Although it looks cold and boring from the outside, it's warm and inviting from the inside. The walls are painted a soft beige, decorated with paintings of beautiful meadows. Plush red sofas line the walls, and a fire crackles in a fireplace. There is a door to the left, a door to the right, and what looks like two elevator doors in the back. One man carries Sire into the right door, then comes out without her.
"I'm Alex," he says.
"I'm Mike," says the other one. Now, in the light I can see they look like mirror images of each other. Twins.
"We're part of the rebellion," Alex says.
"Are you tired?" asks Mike. "The room on the right is yours."
I shake my head. No way am I tired after that drink.
"Are you up for coming downstairs to see the operation room?" Alex asks.
"Yeah!" I say, practically running towards the elevator.
"Well, thanks." I say. "Even if you have dirty reasonings for doing it You guys are much better captives."
I walk around, looking at everything. "This is amazing, but is it very safe? What if Cy attacks?"
ALex- or is it Mike?- laughs. "CY has been looking for us for years. He thinks we are on the other side of his torcher chambers. But even if he manages to find us. We have some surprises waiting for him."
The feast we have is amazing. For the main course there is an animal called chicken seasoned with a spice called pepper. Dessert is something called ice cream.
The whole team seems like a huge family, joking and laughing. Brian, the computer genius, is probably the closest one to my age. Although he's 15 and I'm 13, I have a feeling we're going to get along. There's also Troy, the old record-keeper and Laura the manager. I haven't seen the director yet, but from what everyone's told me, he's not very friendly.
After the feast, I am guided upstairs to the room where we came in. As soon as my head hits the pillow, I am asleep.
I wake because I feel someone looking at me. I instantly bolt up right and am prepared to attack- but it is just one of the twins.
I sigh and lean back. "Ever hear of knocking?"
He laughs, "That girl of your's is up and talking. She is asking for you."
Instantly I am wide awake. "Where is she? Is she okay? Is she hurt?"
"Slow down," he chuckles, "I'm going to take you to her."
Alex comes in the room (he's wearing a nametag).
"Come on guys, breakfast!" he then runs down the stairs to the command center.
I grab Sire's hand and we follow ALex, taking everything in. THey have multiple chambers down here with a lot of technology and weapons. In a way it is built a lot like my old ship. I wonder if the people who had built this place had helped my ansestor build the ship.
That day, I realize we are inseparable.
Although the conversation at dinner last night seemed light and carefree, tonight's topic is grave. The director interrupts our meal of beef stew and brings us awful news.
"Sector 42 has been compromised," he says, looking down at us. Across from me, Laura gasps.
"What does that mean? What's Sector 42?" I whisper to Brian, whose sitting next to me.
He leans in and says, "Our sister sector. We're 43. If they've been attacked, we're next for sure."
I know am the interest of everyone. There is not one person who does not stare. I don't look at anyone. I grip my spoon hard in my fist. "What kind of secrets?" Someone asks.
Cy bores holes into me with his death stare. He snaps his fingers and two burly guys walk through the door. They're dressed in all black and when they walk, they make the floor shake. I look at Sire. She looks back. We know each other so well, we don't even have to talk in order to communicate. I know what she is thinking. We can divide and conquer. I tap Brian, whose sitting next to me, on the leg. Sire does the same to Laura. Brian looks down at my hand. I signal to him that on the count of three, we attack. I look at Sire, and we mouth "one...two...three."
(@AKwritten yeah that is weird!)
The two thugs take two identical weapons from their jacket. They look like shooters, but smaller. Guns, I think they're called?
"Listen up, everybody," the guy on the left says. "Move and we'll shoot." Everybody instantly freezes. My whole body tells me to move, to run after Sire and help her. But I can't. Something tells me those guns are lethal.
The other guard comes up behind me. I can feel the nozzle of the gun pressed to my back.
"The boy comes with us. Anybody with your sector comes after us, we will take very drastic measures."
With that, he grabs me harshly by the arm and pulls me out the door.
