This is a idea came up with for a story and figured be neat to have some collaboration.
This is what i have so far:
i peer out my window, looking out at the vast darkness  of space. the view of it all hardly ever seems to change, leaving you to wonder where it ends and another begins. Many years ago before i was born, there was once a place called Earth, home to humans and animals alike for billions of  years, but as time went on the fragile planet became weak until it was destroyed by war and destruction that was brought upon. What remains of our race, is aboard the XX Galaxy, the only place i call home, travels through space searching for other sources of life, another place to call home.

I dream of that place called earth. My grandpa told me stories of these things called trees. He said they were much taller than I, or anything else on the ship, and were green. He told me that they made fresh fruit that was plump and so juicy that it ran down your chin when you ate it.  He says that they were much, much better than the dried apples or pears that we have.

My father is the Captian Skyford.  Everyone looks up to him with such respect and honor.  It was his great-grandpa who first flew our ship off of earth.

"Reed!" calls my grandfather. "Come one and eat your edibles!"
Reluctantly, I tear my eyes away from my window and walk out my compact. The automatic door closes behind me with a "schlick!"
When I enter the kitchen, Skyford is sitting at the table. On the table is two plates with dried oranges and canned beans. There are also two glasses of powdered milk.

"Oh yum," I sigh.
Grandfather frowns and opens his mouth to lecture me about being grateful when the entire ship suddenly lurches hard to the side and alarms start blaring.

"But Grandfather!" I yell. "I want to help this time!"
He looks at me with fear in his eyes.
"Reed, if you don't take your siblings to the escape pod now, they'll die. Go now! Take your transmitter. I'll send a message when everything is safe."

I glare at him but run back into the hall to head to the escape pod.  Arinalyna knows to meet me there.  She'll be waiting.  She knows the dangers of when the Hugitons attack.  This isn't their first ambush.

I run through the wide passages of the ship. Everyone looks panicked, and everyone is running around crazily. I press on and run until I get to the observation deck. My sister Arinalyna is there, searching for me.
"Arin!" I call. She spots me and runs towards me.
"Skyford said to get into an escape pod. He'll message me when the siege is over."
Arin looks at me. "No." she says. "I'm not getting in that escape pod."
I stare at her wide-eyed. "Arin, you know what Skyford said! You could be killed!"
She looks at me with tears in her eyes.
"Yeah, but at least I'll die nobely." she gives me a hug.
"I love you, Reed. Tell Grandpa I love him too!"
"Arin, no!" I yell. She takes off back into the heart of the ship.
"Attention, attention," says the loudspeaker. "Evacuate now, explosion in fifteen seconds."
Thinking quickly, I swipe my transmitter through the slot. An escape pod comes swiftly on it's rails. I dive through the automatic door.
"Location?" Asks the automatic voice.
I can't think. There is nowhere to go...
"Earth!" I yell. The pod begins to speed up. A gate opens at the end of the rail, and the pod flies off the rails, hurtling into space.

I am no more than twenty yards away when the Hugitons launch an explosive at the ship.  I watch in agonized horror as the entire fleet is destroyed in a single firey blast.  The shock waves from the explosion send my escape pod hurtling.  I lose my balance and hit my head on the chair. The last thing I see before I pass out is the fire being instantly quneched after breathing all of the oxygen that was in the ship. There is nothing left of my people.

I wake to a soft throbbing at the back of my head. My whole body hurts, especially my right ankle. Slowly, I open my heavy eyelids. I'm lying on the metal escape pod floor. I sit up, moaning. The floor is splattered with red blood. I reach up to the back of my head. When I take my hand down, it's covered in blood.
I stand up. Or try to, at least. My right leg sears with pain and buckles immediately. Limping, I unlatch the door of the pod and step out. Then, I realize what I have done. I've just stepped on Earth with no oxygen mask.

I franticaly place my hand over my mouth and look for the mask.  It should be here? Where is it where? My heart pounds as I imagin myself getting lung cancer or my lungs turning to ash from breathing in earth's polluted air.

"You know," she says, stepping closer to me. "You're on Earth."
"Then how are you alive?" I asked. "Everyone knows you can't breathe on Earth."
She laughs a quiet laugh. "It's quite the opposite, actually. Earth is still very much alive. Come, see."
I gesture to the wires wrapped around my body.
She laughs again and takes out a box with a button on it. When the button is pressed, the wires are gone.
"Take my hand," she says. I still feel dizzy and light-headed, and my ankle is still killing me. Shakily, I grab her hand and stand up. Then, a pain shoots through the right side of my body and I fall to the ground. Smiling, Sire takes my arm and drapes it around her shoulders.
"You can lean on me," she says. "The camp is only a hundred feet away."
Feet...what are feet? I know what the body part is...but I didn't know there was a second meaning. Still, a hundred seems like a lot of anything.
I look up at the ceiling, and realize there is no ceiling to this planet! It's just empty blue for miles, until it reached the edge of the sky. And there are white things that look like the frosted cheese we eat.
It's also incredibly hot on Earth. In the Ship, the temperature was always 73 degrees. Never more, never less. I guess when you have the sun directly on you, the heat is worse.

"Who's Cy?" I ask. I am still in a daze.
"My father," she says. Suddenly, my head begins to spin. My vision becomes a flurry of blue and brown, and the next thing I know, I hit the ground and there is instant blackness.

"uh...." I stared at the food, trying to figure out what it was I was looking at, "What do you call this....dish?"
"It is jumba," she smiles and takes a bite, "it is full of good healthy grub worms and roots."
I mentaly search my head for these terms. Roots, I was very familiar with but wasn't grub worms those big fat white bugs?
I try to smile at her but I think she notice's my urge to bite back a wave of vomit at the idea of eating this.

"Ugh," I say. "What is that?"
The food on the tray she's holding looks like brown mush.
"It's whole-oat meal with strawberries. It's a delecacy." She says, setting the tray on my nightstand. "I understand if you don't eat it now."
I sit up and throw the covers off me. I'm still wearing my protocol suit from the ship.
"Are you rested?" she asks. I nod.
"You're going to have to use this," she says and gestures towards a big stick. "As a crutch." I sigh, but hobble over to the crutch anyway.

About 30 mintues later, I'm outside the hut.

This hut looks just like the hut I woke up in. I can't help but think how primitive it all is.
We sit down and Cy pours a golden liquid into three cups that seem to be made of woven fibers.
"So, Reed." he says. "I've heard a lot about you from Sire."
Sire looks down, embarassed.
Then, he leans close to me.
"You were on the ship, right?" he asks. "The S-92?"
I nod. Where is he going with this?
He leans even closer.
"I need you to tell me everything about it." he says, then sits back in his chair.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"How did you farm? How did you live? How did you thrive?" he says, giving examples.
"All of it." he says.
Sire looks up.
"What are you going to do with the information?" I ask. I don't know if I'm ready to do this.

I get a gut feeling that this guy is bad news.  The way his eyes glint and the shark-like smile platered on his face make my whole skin crawl.
I clear my throat and sit up strighter. I was Reed Skyford.  I was like a prince on my ship.  My family had been the captins since S-92 had launched.  I will not let this guy make a fool of me.
"Thank you for your hospiltality, Cy is it?" I smile back at him, not caring if it looks like a smirk or not.  "I am very grateful to you and your people in aiding me. But why do you care how S-92 and more importantly....how did you know it was destroyed?"

~@guardianofthehearts Yeah I was, but we were lucky. We only lost power for a few hours, then it came back on and we lost our cable. But everything's good now :)~
I stand up with an air of offense. I cannot be treated this way.
"I have no right to answer your questions that I find personal and offensive considering that I everyone I knew was killed no less than twenty-four hours ago. I refuse to answer any questions now and in the future that you have for me." I say.
Cy leans in close to me. He looks at me with his hard amber eyes. "Listen, kid. This isn't some luxury ship. Us Earthlings were the people left behind. We weren't good enough to be saved, so we fended for ourselves." Cy says. "Now that your little ship has been blown up, we're all you have left. Things work differently around here. I suggest you change your ethics."
And with that, he leaves me alone in the empty hut.
